Hello

I'm bout to upgrade to a 125 gallon tank. My current tank is 55 gallons with 12 Mbuna's & 5 T Barbs. I have several questions? (1) How many Mbuna in a 125 gal tank (2) Thinking bout Fluval FX4 Filtration (3) Is a Wave Maker needed (4) Will 2 300 watt heaters be enough.......

THANKS IN ADVANCE

For mbunas I would say a lot. For a 55 a good 15, for a 75 I'd say 25-30. My mind cannot calculate for a 125 mbuna tank. Let's just say 50 or so. I bet if you add plenty of rock piles and put the 12 you have in there now you will likely have a fulled stocked tank in a year or so as they breed on their own.

I do not think a wave maker is need, I would personally have 2 canister filters, one on either side. Yes to the 2 300W heaters, put one by each filter intake.

Side note: do you plan to move the barbs as well? Tiger barbs may be able to hold their own against Africans, but they really should not be kept together.
