no takers on this one then, does anyone know of any good review sites for fish keepers may be able to find some help on there.

I was hoping someone else would answer, I only started using Tropica a few months ago so I won't be of much use.

You could have a look here http://www.ukaps.org/index.php?page=guide-to-substrates, I found this a useful guide.

So far I have not had any issues with clouding. I can't comment on plant growth as it's also my first CO2 enriched tank.

I use it all the time, brilliant stuff, work on high cec.

Hi Ian

Thanks for the reply im going o give a try its my first real go a a planted tank so i want to start off right. Does it have a life span or can you leave it in there for good?

The longer you leave it the better. It helps soak up un used nutrients and releases them in a timely manner. Just remember that it needs capping with sand.

Great think i convinced myself to give it a try the only difference is i will cap mine with 3mm dorset pea gravel as ive never like using sand always found it to look messy.
