Hi guys,

After doing some research I went ahead and bought some Vals to grow across the back of my tank. When it comes to trimming I have read various methods, what do you think is the best way to trim these and help them grow cross ways quicker than they otherwise would?

Thanks in advance.

Vallis only spreads by runners along the ground. Pruning the leaves does not make them branch.

If the vallis is a couple of inches too long for the tank then leave it alone. If the vallis is more than 6 inches too long for the tank then use a sharp pr of scissors and trim the tops off.

Mine took over a month to establish and then took off all by themselves. I understand they struggle in very soft our acidic water but that is not a problem I have.
