Thinking about moving a sword, my wisteria is growing over and through it...

Its rooted into a ugf, was a little worried about leaving alot of root behind.

Thinking about putting it in my 20 long as a centerpiece.

A lot of gardeners, aquatic and otherwise, will root prune plants when they move them, to encourage new root growth, so don't worry too much about loosing some root. A lot of roots are for holding the plant in position rather than feeding.

The main thing is to lift the plant from underneath; try and work your fingers underneath the main root ball and lift it that way; don't pull it up with the leaves.

Don't forget that it might 'sulk' for a while after you've moved it, so give it a chance to come back; don't just assume it's dead and throw it out :)

I pulled the one out of my 10g instead, it was rooted pretty good in pebbles.

I was more worried about leaving all the roots to decay under the ugf.

Shouldn't truly Be a problem, as long a son the tank is mature. The roots will most likely dissolve away over time
