Tiger plec

Hi, New to the forum so will be after loads of advice, getting a 4ft tank next week, it comes with 4 silver dollar fish & a tiger plec, going on holiday for a week, was wondering if it can last as long as that without food, or not.

Can you not get someone to check in on them? If not, just make sure they're well fed before you go and they should be fine.

Of much more concern is the fact that this will be a new set-up, and ammonia and nitrite could be deadly. Rinsing the filter media in tank water, and the substrate, will preserve some bacteria. But it would be safer to be around for the first few weeks. Ammonia or nitrite rising about zero can easily kill fish.
