I have a 29 gallon tank which has not cycled in over 2 months. Here is the run down of what happened, maybe someone could help:
DAY 1: Setup the tank and added water
Day 5: Added TSS+ and ammonia to 1ppm and kept on dosing the ammonia back up to 1ppm whenever it got to .25
Day 60: Ammonia wouldn't get lower than .25, so a member suggested that I get a very small part of my stocking because the ammonia and the bacteria and just not working, and to also get Stability and Prime as well to keep the ammonia from rising too high. (I purchased 3 Platies, Stability, and Prime)
Day 70: Ran through the whole bottle of Stability and still getting the same results and not cycled.
Results:
Ammonia: .25-.5
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 5
Day 71: Got 3 guppies to add to the tank.
Note*: I just tested my tap water for ammonia and got .25
What is happening? I used two different brands of bacteria, followed cycling directions but I am still not cycled. Tommorw I will start dosing the second bottle of Stability and Prime, but when will I be fully cycled?
