Hi all,

very interested in setting up a cichlid tank and want to know if a 130l fluval fresh f90 would be suitable for these smaller varieties having ruled out mbuna due to tank size.

I have done some reading and like the looks of dwarf petricolas, neolamprologus (pulcher, leleupi and cylindricus mix), maybe some julies and then some shell dwellers like multis and ocellatus.

can i get a mix of these in a 130l 90 x 35 x 45 cm.

my water is hard and alkaline (19dgh, 7.6ph) which is why i am looking at cichlids to match the fish to the water.

any advice greatly appreciated!

sorry to bump my own thread but has anyone got any thoughts? need some advice before i go buy a load of rock as my fishless cycle ahead of schedule!

I would only do 2 species either a pair of Julies, calvus or compressiceps and 1 species of shellies. Build up rocks in one section of tank and a shell bed in the other half.
