Substrate

In the process of adding a new cannister filter to my established tank and the substrate really needs changing,currently have a base of eco complete with a layer of white, green and black gravel on top, but it looks dirty
I was wondering what is that black stuff they use in Maidenhead Aqautics in there show / display tanks..... is it a gravel or a clay ???

Anyone got recommendations.... looking for black the as little hassle washing it through

Looks really good. I did rinse it but it was pretty clean straight out of the bag.
