hello,

im just struggling to take pictures of my fish, im using nikon D300s and 35mm lens using aperture setting at f1.8.

any tips?

what shutter speed are you using aswell? A faster shutter speed would decrease the chance of getting blury fish.

I would suggest turning to the setting on your camera to where you just adust the shutter speed, and it will automatically choose an aperature, start at around 1/200 shutter speed and if its blury, increase it to say 250 etc.

that was my first thought, so i tried the shutter speed at 1/200 and 1/250 and the pictures come out to dark to make anything out....

Point the camera at the fish?? ;)

apart from adding an external light source or waiting until daytime, not too sure, sorry

f1.8 is extremly shallow depth of field.

do you have photoshop press ctrl and l and change your levels.

or up your iso, about 400 or 800.

best bet is try it at 1/125 or 1/60 instead of 1/200. You can catch the light better then.
