Common Name/s: Spotted Puffer, Green-Spotted Puffer

Scientific Name: Tetradon Nigroviridis

Origin: Asia (Thailand, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and India)

Maximum Size: 17cm

Care: Will require Hard, Alkaline Brackish water throughout their life. Can tolerate full marine when adult but this must be done over a period of months. Will eventually require a tank of at least 30-40 gallons per puffer. Can sometimes be keeped with other spotted-puffers if added in a relatively large group (4+). Can also co-habit with other similar sized figure-of-eight puffers or larger brackish fish such as monos, scats and archerfish. Best kept singly so you can interact with them.

Feeding: Will require frozen foods such as bloodworm, mysis, krill etc. Also appreacites cockle-in-shell (shell must be opend first). Feed snails occasionally to keep teeth warn down.

Breeding and Sexing: The sexual difference is not known. Breeding occurs on substrate were the eggs are guarded by the male. However, breeding is extremely rare in captivity.
