Hello everyone, I haven't posted here in awhile, but here's my question:
I'm going to crack an attempt at breeding Senegal Bichirs in a 55 gallon tank. There would be 3 Senegals in it and 1 pair of Bristlenose Plecs.
If I sucessfully breed the Senegals, they'd go into a 10 gallon rearing tank where the eggs would be lain.
But, I need to know:
Is there a smaller pleco (that can live it's whole life in a 10 gallon) that will eat algae, but not the eggs?
I've been told that Bristlenose Plecs would eat the eggs, so I'm torn.
What algae eater should I have?
I thought about ottos, but I don't really want a pleco that prefers being in groups.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
GobyMaster

Two words.

Algea scraper.

Can live its whole life in a 10gal, and you don't need to feed it. :good:

accualy a rubber lipped pleco would do great in a 10g, they only get to 2-3" max
