can you use normall silicone on a fishtank or do you have to buy it from a petshop?

You have to get aquarium-safe silicone from a pet or fish store. Home improvement stores may have it too.

Yup, darn expensive for what it is but you have to use the proper stuff.

Don't be tempted

Yes
Not certain which of those you are answering yes to but you absolutely, positively can not use normal silicone unless you want a bunch of dead fish. Sty away from anything that doesn't say "aquarium safe". Definitely don't use glue sticks. They wouldn't hold enough anyway. What they are using is 100% silicone but is the aquarium safe type. This is the kind I have except I only have the 3 oz. tube.
