Sap Question

Not sure how many people on here keep South Americans, but thought I'd ask. How timid do you find them? A couple years back I actually set a 60 gallon up for them, and planned on keeping a small group of 6 since I've heard they typically do better together and are a lot less shy. Long story short, I waited 6 months and was never able to find them for sale so I moved on. Had a snail breeder tank set up and everything. Anyways, I actually just bought a 20 gallon long tank and, being curious, went a looked to see if any were around. Surprisingly, I found them. Unfortunately, my 60 gallon has been dismantled and sold! Has anyone here kept just a pair of them? Were they very active, or more on the shy side when kept singly or as just a pair? In all likelihood I'll end up going with a F8 or maybe sticking with my original plan of a nice shoal of rummy noses, but thought it would be worth asking!
