hi i was just wondering if 1 red line torpedo barb would be safe, won't be agressive or eat smaller community fish i.e glass catiish? Thanks

redline torpedo barbs are fine with smaller fish but they need to be in groups of 5+ ideally and not kept as a single fish. they also require at least a 4ft tank.

They should be fine with smaller fish. Aslong as the other fish arnt to slow moving because they might get freaked out by the barbs flying around the tank.

they also require at least a 4ft tank.
And where is the scientific evidence for that? haha.

so could i not only buy 1?

i wouldnt recommend it as they are a fish that prefers to be in as bigger group as possible. a single barb will be an unhappy barb and you wont see it at its best.

why do you just want 1 barb?
