Thanks for al your replies folks...got my 1st hot topic! 
Guppy fry seem to be doing better, we've only lost 1, leaving 7 healthy, and 1 adult. Treating with Anti Internal Bacteria and it seems to be helping. There are 3 out of the 7 with distinctly pointed tails...there were 4 before...I THINK this means that the tails on mine were clamped...But are responding *crosses fingers* I've been doing a lot of asking around about this, and it seems that pointy tailed-males aren't unheard of...something genetic apparently, although they were all "I've only head of it, never seen it" type stories. If these little guys (or girls?) survive, I'll let you know what sex they turned out to be...
