Have been away for the weekend and just arrived back to find one of my platys down the bottom of the tank, upside down, when she tries to swim its either upside down or her head pointing downwards, I have put her in my hospital tank but I don't know what I should do, could it be she's broken her neck or could it be some disease, help please.

Sounds like a bad case of swim bladder, we will need to know the following;

pH:
Ammonia:
Nitrate:
Nitrite:
Temp:
Have you been treating your water with anything prior:

What is the oxygenation of water like?

PH 7.6
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 5
Temp 24c

I have a Fluval U2 in a 60 litre tank which is attached to a spray bar in a heavily planted tank so there should be enough oxygen, I have put her in my other tank and using an air pump which is attached to this blue thing which produces lots of bubbles, I have also added some aqauarium salt.

UPDATE - I am also not treating the tank for anything but I do have co2 injection, they also have a well balanced diet or frozen blood worm, brine shrimp, flakes and peas once a week.

Not sounding to hopeful for the fish i'm afraid.
Does the fish look bloated.

Has the fish been overfed while you have been away.

She aint looking too good, looks bloated and got something red coming out of her bum, she can hardly move. I used an automatic feeder whilst away so she might of ate too much. If there are no improvements later I will use some clove oil to put her out of misery.

She died, and it was probably might fault for overloading the feeder, I have learnt a valuable lesson the hardway.

Bless Her.
R.I.P.

Was the red coming out of her bum a worm, organ prutruding from the anus.
Have you ged bloodworms.

Livebearers are prone to camallanous worms.
You will see a red worm prutruding from the anus.
