Hi and welcome to the forum :)

Sorry about the late response. There are threads hiding everywhere and I haven't seen some of them. This is one that has been hiding somewhere.

Pictus catfish are a social fish that should be kept in groups of 6 or more. They are nocturnal but come out during the day when food is put in the tank or if there is lots of cover from plants (especially floating plants like Water Sprite).
They will eat small fish so should not be kept with neon tetras, zebra danios or other small slender species.
They survive in a range of water conditions but do best when the pH is between 6.6 & 7.8. And the general hardness (GH) is between 100 & 300ppm.
They can reach 8 inches in length but most only get to about 6 inches in aquariums.
You should do regular water changes and gravel cleaning to keep their tank clean.

Yes, interesting about the "secretive" threads. But to the issue at hand...

just adding to what Colin posted, on the tank size, you will need at minimum a tank with a length of 4 feet (120 cm) and preferably a width of 18 inches (45 cm) so something like a 70 gallon or larger depending upon other fish species/numbers.

Their nocturnal habit means they should never be combined with quiet or sedate fish (angelfish, gourami, etc) as these fish will be stressed out by the nocturnal disturbances of such largish fish. Pictus cats also go into a feeding frenzy when food is placed in the tank, and this easily frightens many other fish.
