Aside from the 'algae covering everything/green water' issue I have in the Mbuna tank, I have now noticed small particles in the water - not sure if this is the algae (is it visible as individual particles?) or fish waste etc - I was thinking I should add some extra filtration - but whenever I clean sponges in the internal filter they really aren't dirty at all (apart from filter floss on top catching algae) - I am wondering if all the rocks I have positioned around the integral filter are blocking the flow? Any advice please? All readings are fine, even nitrate which was around 40 is now down to 10 (I guess the algae is using it all up ), so am I likely to need more filtration. (PS all fish are juveniles around 1 inch)

Get some 100% polyester batting from a knitting/craft store. It works well at removing those particles, is cheap as can be and tank safe.

Just cut pieces that will cover the sponge, layer 2-3 and keep changing/cleaning them every couple days.
