Oscars and cichlids

iv got a med tiger oscar and two African cichlids. I was told these two were fine to house together and from research seems to be ok but the oscar keeps chasing the Cichlids. Will he stop eventually or no go on housing together? Thanks in advance

They shouldn't be together.

Apart from anything else, the oscar wants quite soft water, whereas the Africans must have it very hard and alkaline.

What species are your Africans? Most African cichlids need to be kept at a very dense stocking level to reduce aggression; with just two, you're likely to end up with one very beaten up, or dead.
