Not Sure If Algae

Quite a few green spots around the glass forming and around ornaments in the tank/ heater plastics etc.
 
All seems to form on places that has direct hit from the light from my tank. 
 
Is it algae or just dirt?
 
As after i gave it all a scrub it was soon back.

Does sound like algae by the sounds of it.
 
A picture would be good just to be sure.
 
Algae can be a combination of things but generally speaking usually down to too much light brightness/wattage or lights on for too long every day.
 
How long do you have the tank lights on for every day?
 
Also what lights do you currently have? T5 or T8 or even LEDs? 
 
Size and dimensions of tank will also help.

Turned out it was green spot algae, and a few snails have worked away cleaning the glass etc so that sorted it!
