Newcomer and want to start keeping tropical fish!

Hello there! I'd like to start keeping tropical fish species to liven up my humble abode. I have some animal-keeping experiences under my belt, and I'm not new to fish-keeping. I have a few reptiles and tank full of guppies, and I want to try something new! I'm still debating between saltwater and freshwater. I'd love a snowflake moray, but at the same time, I still need to keep an eye on money and time consumption. Regardless, I have my eye on a wonderful 135 gallon tank.

Can anyone give me some starter tips and tricks and perhaps a list of items I need to purchase?

I think you are going to have to pin down your intentions more. Providing a list of items for freshwater and saltwater, possibly moray eel, is wide open.
