We've created a new sub-forum in the journal section for what we are calling "field reports".

If you are out in the wild and spot some interesting fish, snails, crabs, corals, etc. You can post your observations and photographs in this new area. Also, if you visit a public aquarium and want to share photos and information you learned while there we want to hear about it!

For example, here's a photo of a very large green eel I took on a recent visit to the World Wild Life Zoo and Aquarium.

I learned that it's a moray eel and that the green color comes from mucus. Without that mucus the eel is actually brown. I also learned that it's huge, getting 8 feet long. So this isn't something you would be able to keep in your average home aquarium.

Share your photos, and your knowledge in the new section!

Your Moray Eel reminded me of a native fresh water Moray eel that a guy I know in far north Queensland has found living in some  remote creeks/ streams.

I live near chicago and have a year round pass to the Shedd aquarium...

Be ready to see lots of cool species this summer-including the shark and stingray touch exhibit

EDIT- the touch exhibit is ONLY for the stingrays...
