Hello, All!!

My name is Deb, and I am a new participant. I found this Forum looking for information on fishless cycling ~~ excellent write-up! I've always had smaller tanks, like under 10 gallons, as I like Betta's, and each one needed their own tank. I have one established 29 gal, and am starting a 36 gal bow front, for which I was looking for cycling info. The 36 gal is going to be the new home for Splasher, an upside down catfish, who is ancient. He was named after Splasher, King of the Sea ~~ a Japanese anime created in the mid-60's. (He is, like, 50 y/o ~~ no kidding~~). He was living in the 29 gal, but I put other catfish in, and they were crowding him out of his house, so he has been moved into temp quarters, (with his house) til the new tank is ready. Enjoy the day!

Easiest thing is to transfer some bio media from the 29 to new tank filter.

That, I did. It's been about three weeks. I switched up the filters, putting the new one on the old tank, and the old on the new. What should I look for to determine that it is properly cycled?
