Hi all! Ive had bettas for years and this guy specifically 2. I just noticed his scales are raised on only 1 side of his body. He eats perfectly, active, in his normal spirits. Ive added AQ salt and Methyl Blue. Ive changed water conditioners to the top fin stress. Hes in a 5 gallon tank with live plant and a shrimp and snail. I cant figure this out! HELP! Dont wanna lose my coffee buddy
(Tried loading a pic but wouldnt)

You can put him in an Epsom salt bath. The Epsom salt will draw out any excess fluid. I do about a tsp if Epsom salt in a gallon of water and leave the fish in for about 15 minutes. You can do this a couple of times a day. I wouldn’t do aquarium salt and Epsom salt though. Methylene blue and aquarium salt won’t do anything if it’s the beginning of dropsy. If it worsens, you can use Kanaplex and Furan-2 together according to directions. Good luck!
