New 55 gallon tank.

Hi I have a new 55 gallon tank and was wondering if my stock would be ok. I want 2 clown plecos 4 angelfish 3 pearl gourami (1 male 2 female) and about 10 platys. Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the forum

Platies come from hard alkaline water and do best in hard alkaline water. The other fishes you mentioned come from soft slightly acid water.

Any idea how hard your water is and what the pH is?
If you take a sample of your tap water to your local pet shop they should be able to test it for general hardness (GH), carbonate hardness (KH), and pH. Write the results down and post them here.
If you can't get to your local pet shop, contact or check out your water supply company's website and find the information there.
