Hello im a dorm student and I recently put together a 15 gallon aquarium I was wondering how long till the cycling is completed I have 4 fish (1 pico catfish, 1 freshwater angel, 1 Silver dollar, 1 bala shark) any suggestions and help would be appreciated very much

Welcome to TFF.

To your question...my advice is to remove all fish, returning them to the store, and then deal with cycling the tank. Cycling with fish is cruel to the fish, as the ammonia and then nitrite are highly poisonous. Some fish manage through it, depending upon the volume and fish load, but it damages their physiology and they willnever be truly healthy, often succumbing to problems they would otherwise be able to fight off, and a premature death.

A second reason I am recommending return of the fish is that they will grow far too large for a 15g tank (individually), and the Silver Dollar and the Bala Shark are both shoaling species that must have a group of their species. They need a very much larger tank.
