Hi all, I'm new to here. I've kept my fish and fed him with the same type of food pellet for 9 months. He stopped eating 3 days ago (swallowed it in and throw up immediately). I didn't find any symptom of infection and he still swims actively. Is there any problem with his food?

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

Can you post a picture of the fish so we can check it for any signs of disease?

Have you tested the aquarium water and if yes, what was the pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and temperature?

How often do you do water changes and gravel cleans and how much water do you change?

Do you have a fish only bucket for the water changes?

Do you use a dechlorinator/ water conditioner in all the new water that gets added to the tank?

What sort of food are you giving him, brand names, expiry date, how long has the packet been open for, etc?

Have you done anything to the tank in the last few weeks, eg: added new plants or ornaments, washed the tank or filter out?

Has anyone used any paint, perfumes, deodorants, bug sprays or created any fumes in the room during the last week?

Can you please answer the following questions.

How big is the tank?
Has it got a heater? What is it set to?
Has it got a filter?
How strong is the current?
Is it cycled?
How often do you change water?
How much water do you change?
Do you vacuum the substrate?
What additives or chemicals do you use? Eg De Chlorinator?
Do you use tap or bottled water? If bottled water please give us the brand.
Do you have a water test kit?
Can you tell us the readings for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?
When you clean the tank can you tell us exactly what you do.
What do you feed him? how much? how often?
Any tank mates? What sort how many?
How long have you had the Betta?
Has he got a history of illness?
Any plants or decorations? Please give details?
Can you provide a close up photo of the fish?
Can you provide a photo of the tank?
