she's getting bigger everyday...was very tiny when I got her
 
 
I guess it's a female as no bristles on nose
 
Maybe I'll try breeding her with my full grown male pleco eventually
 
She's in my 35 gallon tall hex tank.  Larger pleco is in my 29 gallon tank.

it's too early for bristles so it could still be male.
 
I got myself two BN's and for a very long time I was convinced I had a male and a female as one developed bristles quicker than the other even though they were the same age. In time it turned out I actually had 2 males. I think the slower to develop one was almost a year old before he got his whiskers
 
Any other wat to tell sex besides presence or absence of bristles?
 
not that I'm aware of. Female's have a smooth nose, males have bristles - best I can do. For now I'd give it more time and see what develops
