I recently bought a new orange mollie and am looking to breed it but can't figure out the breed of it. Any help would be appreciated. Also any tips on how to breed it would also go a long way.

It looks female, but it could be a young male (all livebearers are born looking female and develop the male characteristics as they mature).

Sexing mature livebearers is easy; females have a normal fan shaped anal fin (that's the fin on the fish's bottom, just in front of the tail), while males have a rod-like structure called a gonopodium.

Breeding mollies is easy; make sure your tank is big enough, keep two or three females to every male, make sure there are plenty of hiding places for the fry (live plants are best), keep the water clean and make sure it's hard enough, as mollies do not do well in soft water.
