Well I can't really lower the water level because it's only ten gallons and he's not the only fish in the tank. The light I have on the tank prevents me from using a glass lid. Is there any way I can keep the open top look?

His color is what made me pick him over the other dwarf gourami species.

Just added the moss to the tank. Will let it grow out some and then post pictures. My fiance says it reminds him of a swamp because of all the moss.
