How do i tell the difference between a male and female krib?
Im told the female has a red belly compared to the male...but all mine seem to have some kind of a red belly.

can someone pls help.

thanks :)

Generally the male is longer and straighter than the female - she is normally a lot more curved in the belly. There is a good krib info page here, but I don't think the male/female pictures show it as well as they could.

I've added a thread in Members Aquarium photos showing my male & female kribs. Note that the male will colour up when he is defending his territory or ready to breed. The main indicator is the shape.

hi shorty, welcome to the forum!
I saw you allready got some great help
maybe just one addition, it's also very easy to see at the dorsal fin, the males is sharper than the females... (as you can see on the pictures there)

how many kribs do you have?
and what other fish are in there with them
(sorry for being so curious) :*)
