Afternoon folks...
I want to know what the safest way of lowering my ph in my tank.. it is at about 8 and that is too high for dwarf cichlids so i need to lower it slowly... I have heard you can use sphagnum moss or peat balls. I would rather use something natural than a chemical!!

Look into RO water. Use of chemicals can be a slippery slope and difficult to control. Using peat can be messy and this and/or driftwood can also be hard to control. By control I mean maintaining a fairly constant level of pH and hardness.

You might want to read here to get a good understanding of your tank's water chemistry and what it takes to change it. http://fins.actwin.com/mirror/begin-chem.html#altering
