I have a 10-gallon tank currently housing 6 regular Rosy Barbs and a bullhead catfish. I don't plan any more fish to that tank, as it would get a bit too crowded, but I really love long-finned rosy barbs, so here's my question:
I want to get a 25 or 29 Gallon community tank and stock it with only barbs. I know barbs are nippy at fish with long fins, so I was wondering whether putting long-finned rosy barbs and short-finned barbs together would be okay.
I hear that long-finned barbs retain their semi-aggressive nature, so I want to know whether they'll be able to defend themselves against tiger barbs and short-finned rosy barbs, or whether I'll come home to a decimated tank with beautiful, dead long-finned barbs.
Alternately, can you experts here recommend some other long-finned barbs that would be suitable tankmates for long-finned rosy barbs?
Thanks!
