Woke this morning to find my blue legged hermit out it's shell and half hanging out my lob.all tenticales are out as if it's feeding.its defo dead as my two nassurius snails are at the back looking for some too.
I can only assume that it's been on death's door at the wrong place and time.

Most likely it was as you said, on its way out in the wrong place, but it may have also molted in a dumb spot or been out of its shell for some reason and had a bad time getting into hungry polyps. Crustaceans can get stung pretty easily when not hardened up yet and their soft back end is always a weak spot for anything that can be sticky or sting (even for species that are normally pretty innocuous).
