Hullo,

I Have just started cycling my new tank, it is 4 foot long and it is going to hold a collection of mbuna and utaka, as I have always fancied a tank with just lake cichlids in it.

However, the 38inch bulb is knackered, I was looking at replacents in the shop but iam a little bewildered by the choice.

Do I want a daylight simulation one or a tropical light one?

If it helps the substrate wil be black sand, as I cant abide gravel, I always thinks it looks so unnatural.

Thanks in advance for your help

Look on the members tank pictures they go under different names depending on brand but; the sun style ones normally have a yellow tint to them, The aqua normally have a slight blue tint, the normals have a clinical white look, the plant grow ones have a reddish tint as it brings out the green more.
