Hi, yesterday I noticed a flow reduction on one of my external filters. After having a look it turnes out that the polishing wool had cultivated some algae stuff and was blocking the pipe. I sorted that out and now theres another problem

I cam down this morning to find half an inch of water gone from the tank and about 8 or 9 inches in the bottom of the big 'precautionary bucket' which i put the filter in. Im quite glad I did now.

It wasnt the hoses as the top of the filter was bone dry, so I can only assume it leaked from around the seem between the filter head and the media bin. Could it be that when I put the lid back on after cleaning it out I trapped some rubber or something which caused it to leak?

Would a new seal help?

Any help would be nice.

Thanks.

i`ve had simmilar issues with fluvals, generally with a alot of swearing at ait and taking it off and on i get it to seal.
