Leaking Fluval 205

Had the fluval 205 runnung for 5 days now just come back from been out and its leaking, lost about a litre.

its leaking from where the cable come out and under the clip on the same side,
im goin to put some vaseline on the rubber seal and try again,

wish i would of bought the EX1200

I know that you have swapped it for the Tetratec EX1200 now, but that sounds like it was a leaky Quick Release Valve, or a crack in the motor unit. Considering the age of the unit, I'd say it was the former problem though

Few hours later 205 gone ex1200 here

Id say the motor head too

Crack in the motor unit would cause a leak visible within a few hours though IME, and usually cause the motor to cut-out. A leaky quick release can take a long time to show itself...

Another Fluval bites the dust.

I was told by a mate to avoid them. Six months, he said, you'll be throwing it out and getting an Eheim.

They usually fail just outside warranty or directly (few minuites/hours) after set-up IME, so even though I'm a Fluval hater, I'd say sjolliff was un-lucky with this one
