Jaynes Fishless Cycle

No hurry, the nitrite bacs usually take longer....  They will be lower than 5ppm by the time 24 hours comes, and could conceivably be zero.  If they are under 1ppm, go ahead and dose again at the full dose.  If its over 2ppm, wait another day and then dose to the full level.

You are very close. And don't worry about nitrate right now.  There's no reason to measure it.

Hi again, ok just going into day 8 results 32 hours after last dose
Ammonia 0
Nitrites 0.25

Redose 2ml ammonia

You are very close now. :good:

Hi today's results
Ammonia 0
Nitrites 0-0.25!,
That's less than 24 hour, double zero, is it cycled, I dosed at 2am so technically it's 21 hours since last dose...I have to wait for 12 hour double zero don't I?

The time to test is 24 hours after you added the ammonia. I also prefer using a 3 ppm dose over a 2.

Ok. 24 hours after dosing to 4ppm

Ammonia ........0
Nitrites.............0
NitrAtes...........80!

It's cycled !! I am right?

Yes.

Congrats.

Thanks EA, so excited now, can't wait til Saturday, when I can go look at the LFS in peace, as kiddies will be out with grandmother for the day!! Just got to decide what to have now!! Decisions, I hate it! Lol
