Hi there I have a Aquarium which is 145+ gallons without roof. I live on the 1st floor, which is above ground floor. My tank is near the window which I barely open. I am currently using 2 Ocean Free BF - 4 Bio - Foam Filter. I have had this tank for past 7 years in the same spot. I have had raised angel fish from eggs to fry's to adults successfully and discuss from eggs to fry's and adults too. I been advised by the shop keeper to use Ocean Free BF - 4 Bio - Foam Filter and I have installed new filters 2 months ago.

Lately I been experiencing a lot of issues with the tank. I see my water is blurry after cleaning the tank. It sometimes stays clean to max upto 3 days. But it becomes blurry and kinda muddy. I feel like I have empty my aquarium completely once and get inside and scrub it thoroughly, which I may do it next weekend. I also notice some white can't say spots its something which is all over my tank and it can be seen while I am emptying the aquarium and changing water. It gets stuck to the glass. Also in 1 corner of the tank there's some weird grass kind of thing which is why I am planning to jump inside my aquarium after making it completely empty and clean it thoroughly using a scrubber or something. I am wondering the second issue could be due to roof not being present and fan being constantly on? probably dust is going inside the tank??? I barely open my windows though, as I stay close to the ground floor and street, its very noisy. I am attaching the images, please advice me what these things could be and any problem to fix it. I am also planning to order this product which I heard is good (link below). But I am afraid I don't know how much quantity needs to be used for 145+ gallons tank.

I don't know if my filter is a bad choice, but I have used the same brand / product for all these years and it had worked very well. I am also planning to add a roof. I thought the tap water can be issue, but I don't think so. But I really don't know what is the issue, as I am planning to keep my tank Discuss only in the future and probably with out without gravel and hanging lights. Please provide me any suggestions from your end guys. I am adding the shots below of the issues. Please let me know! Thanks! :)

This is the thing that is like grass and growing in the corner.

This is my discuss fish in this tank. He is saying you guys hi. I have raised him from a tiny baby. When I had got him he only use to eat live blood worms, but slowly I have changed his habit to eat Tetrabits. :'D

This is my Angel Fish in the same aquarium. Isn't he handsome? He is a male! I raised him from a Tiny Fry to this big. There's also black circle around his both eyes, but its only sometimes visible. His tail black spot and eye spot fade and come. He is saying you hi too. Also you see the amount of dirt / or maybe poop down there, its the result of 1 week. Any suggestions? :'D

I would not use a clarifier - they bind particles together so they are more easily filtered but are very hard on fish gills.

You don't have a substrate so you are entirely dependent on your sponge filters for mechanical and [even] more importantly bio filtration. By replacing both filters at the same time, you likely removed all of your beneficial bacteria, forcing a new recycle. In the future you should only replace one at a time and/or wring out the sponge in the tank before removing/replacing - it looks gross but seeds the new sponge filter with BB.
You may need to keep up on water changes and/or use a product like Seachem Prime (or equivalent) until your bio-filtration reestablishes. You might also accelerate the process with a bottled bacteria supplement (like Seachem Stability, Aquabella, Dr. Tim's One and Only...)

Edit footnote: For a tank this size, I would opt for either a [one or more] HOB (like Aquaclear) or a canister filter instead of sponge filters.

Best wishes

Thank you for the response! :) Even I am planning to buy a Canister filter. I heard they are expensive but worth the price. Do these filters come with UV protection and anti bacterial / algae stuff? I read somewhere some filters are excellent at quality and I am planning to put on best filters. I must say though that biofoam did a great job so far. Yes its true I replaced the same filters on the same day. So far I have changed the water yesterday and cleaned the glass yesterday. The water has not clouded yet, but my fish poop has started to show up on the floor. Also need to check if the canister filter comes with extra long wires and pipes, as my aquarium is 4 feet above the ground and is another 4 feet tall. Any suggestions on canister filters especially brands? Especially something that sucks the dirt of the floor of the aquarium? :)
