How To Get Rid Of The Snails? Or Are They Baby Snails?

hey

i have just noticed that i have 2 small snails in my tank. there shell kina looks like a ice cream cone. they are quite big. prob bout 1 cm long now.

i have a apple snail. do you think they have just come out of the flakes?

do you think i should get rid of them ?

Sound like malaysian trumpet snails to me, if you dont want them to bred (and they do rapidly) take them out, chances are there are others in the substrate. MTS can be good for the tank, they stir up the substrate, eat uneaten food and can eat some algae. So long as you dont over feed the fish, they wont spread to quickly.

You're lucky - I've been wanting Malasian Tumpet snails for some time.
I don't know why they're so hard to get hold of, when so many people worry about seeing them in their tanks...

Got some a few days ago.

1. - Put a leaf of lettuce in the tank overnight, and in the morning they should all be on the leaf.
2. - Put in a candy stripe loach or a clown loach. these will eat them.
