i have recently started my first discus tank it’s a 125g tank with 20g sump running 300 gph and a 380 gph canister filter. I have 1 wave maker at one end of the tank turned all the way down. My only concern is that it’s to much for the discus and I don’t want to stress them out. Can anyone help

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

If there is enough water movement to cause plants to blow about then it is too much for discus.
If the fish are constantly swimming into currents it is too much for discus.

If you post a short 20second video of the discus we can see if they are struggling to swim :)

I agree. From your info though, without a video to confirm, I would suggest the sump is sufficient and you do not need the wave maker, nor the canister. But I am solely basing this on the description.
