Hi,
I am currently treating my tank for Velvet, and  want to know how to tell when my fish are cured. One of my 2 Mollies (all white) has yellow spots all over, my lfs guy advised Blue Planet Multi cure after I showed him a photo of it. The instructions arent that clear.
I have a planted aquaone 620T 130lt community tank, all parameters are fine,
pH 7.3 , ammonia, nitrate and nitrite all 0, temperature 75 degree C.
Started treatment 20 april .
Inhabitants;
2 mollies, one white, one dalmation.
2 angels
2 swordtails
2 blue rams
2 bolivian rams
2 bristlenose catfish
1 beta, 6 plattys and 6 neon tetras,

Usually the best advice is to follow the instructions on the bottle to the letter. However, if you are having difficulty understanding the instructions, you could try posting them on here, and we could try to interpret for you!

Velvet takes a lot longer to get rid of them whitespot.
Are you using the full dose?

It's best to treat up to another week once spots or velvet have disappeared.
Is it possible to contact the manufacture of the medication by email.

Yes, using full dose as per instructions.
Now have to remove plants as it is affecting them. So it looks like a renovation is on the horizon.
Any idea how long till the spots disappear?
The affected fish have stopped flashing and rubbing.

Hi again ,
Just lost one of my blue rams, looked fine yesterday, hope I dont lose more.
Removed all plants and ornaments, vacuumed gravel, 40% water change at correct temp (I use rainwater, no chlorides etc), and redosed as per instructions.
Water parameters still test ok.

I can't tell you how long it will take for the spots to go. Every velvet situation is different.

How are the fish tonight?

Indeed, velvet is a nasty infection that is a difficult one to clear and it's always best to make absolutely clear that it's cleared properly, it can be a bit drawn out to get rid of it, but it's very much worth it. Historical trouble with velvet on a multi tank system is the entire reason that I use quarantine tanks now.
