help sick fish

its starts out as shiny itchy scales (no white spots) followed by a white fluff/fuzz? by the tail followed by finrot and then death this is the sickness in the early stages .

i have scaless fish and inverts in my tank so the meds must not effect them. please help what is it? how do i treat?

I won't guess at disease issues, but before others may be able to help they will need to know more data. Several possible issues come to mind, but this data will sort them out.

Tank size, number (and species) of all fish, how long running. Water test results for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate. Water parameters being hardness (GH) and pH.
