Hi all. Iā€™ve been told I have Diatomes and was wondering the best way to clean the tank without disrupting too much.

If you're not overstocked, you can always go with buying some cute otos :3

In all seriousness though, diatoms ate tricky things. I'd say really to just clean it with your aquarium sponge. It's not the best advice, but diatoms are only really harmful aesthetically speaking unless you have plants. People on other forums seem to give this advice as well.

just use a clean soap free sponge to wipe the glass down.

if you get it on the substrate then use a gravel cleaner.

I have a trusty tooth brush that I use for cleaning up algae, it works especially well in the corners.

If you want, you could even add some nerite snails to the tank. They make great glass polishers and don't breed in fresh water like most other snails.
