Help!!! Beat Up Tiger Oscar

I need some help people, I have a Tiger Oscar ( Young ) that got pretty beat up by a African Cichlid I just got Sunday it chewed his fins up pretty bad. I have found a new home for the Cichlid as hey is a beautiful fish. Will my Oscar recover and what should I do?

Get them separated immediately. Re home one or both. African cichlids should never be housed with South American cichlids.

And, in the future, please research before putting fish together.

As for treating the oscar... the best remedy is clean water, but depending on the damage antibacterial medication will help to keep wounds from getting infected.
