Hello All,

In August this year I shut down my tanks and gave my fish to friends and family as I was moving over to Myanmar from the UK.

Now I have been here a few months I would love to get a fish, I have been to the shop. They have the basics; fish, tanks, substrate, filters, heaters etc. Sadly no test kits.

How do I go about cycling a 10G tank with no test kit and no iodine to drop in? For this reason I am a newbie!

Please advise.

Steve

It's ammonia you would need for a fishless cycle, not iodine; I think you've remembered wrong ;)

Anyway; your best bet would be a 'silent cycle', where you plant the tank very heavily and add fish very slowly.
