Hi!

I have a 4 year old comet goldfish in 125g fish tank. Lately Iā€™ve been noticing heā€™s hanging out in the back corner of the tank and isnā€™t swimming around like he normally would. His fins arenā€™t clamped and heā€™s not resting on the bottom, just sitting in the corner. He comes out to eat. Any idea if something might be wrong with him? Heā€™s kind of my pride and joy so I want to be extra careful.

As a precaution I did a 45% water change.

Before the change my readings were:
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 10 ppm
pH: 7.4

After the water change:
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 5ppm
pH: 7.4

My tank demensions are:
72x18x22

Thanks!

can you post a picture of the fish, and maybe a short 20 second video of it sitting there?

I assume heā€™s on the bottom of the tank in the corner. What is your water temp? Goldies like 68 - 72F to really be comfortable. Mine rest a lot in the corner of the tank. Usually after a meal or in the warmer part of the day. Itā€™s perfectly normal.

I agree with Deanasue, itā€™s not uncommon for goldfish to rest at the bottom of the tank even at some point during the daytime sometimes.
