I've had a male gold gourami in my 36 gallon for a few months now, and just added female opaline gourami about the same size. Ever since I added the Opal into my tank my gold has been relentlessly attacking her... Theres plenty of hiding spaces but its almost like he will hunt for her. Its been almost 2 days and she already has tears in most of her fins from all the nipping. I've also changed around the aquascape twice since yesterday when I added her in, but its not helping... Would adding another female Opal help at all? Or does it sound like I need to go ahead and return the Opal? Its one of the most beautiful gouramis i've seen and I love the clashing colors between the blue and gold, so I would love for them to get along... Any ideas are appreciated!

I would def add another female.it's common for this to happen.
