Hi all I've just received an api test kit for kh and gh. From the tap gh and kh are both 2 drops so is this 0-50ppm? From the tank both are 5 drops so 50-100 ppm?
I think this confirms that my gravel isn't inert?
Is my water hard enough for the fishless cycle which seems to be dormant!!
Thanks in advance to all you clever knowledgeable people [emoji16]

yes your tank water is hard enough to do a fishless cycle.

if you are really worried about the hardness, buy a small container of Rift Lake water conditioner (in a powder form) and use that at half dose. That will raise GH and KH very quickly and provide ample carbonates if it is needed.
