Hello,

In a few days, I will be getting my 120 Gallon tank (6 Feet Long), decided I will be going with the Fluval FX6 Canister Filter.
The tank will be home to about 100 Tetras and some corries. With plenty of plants.

Will 1 FX6 Canister be enough for the job, or should I get a second filter of sort? Will there be enough movement and filtration if the intake is positioned on the corner or should it be in the middle?

Thanks

Filtration wise it should be big enough, but most filters could do with a few more sponges in them, especially if they come with carbon and beads. Leave the carbon and beads out and put sponges in their place.

Have the intake on one end and the outlet on the other end so the clean water flows in one side and through the tank and is picked up at the opposite end.

Having said this, 2 filters are usually safer on big tanks. If one filter has an issue the other filter will keep things alive while the problem is fixed.
